Kepler Threshold-Crossing Events

A Threshold-Crossing Event (TCE) is a sequence of transit-like features in the flux time series of a given target that resembles the signature of a transiting planet to a sufficient degree that the target is passed on for further analysis.

Interactive Tables

The TCE interactive tables contain parameters for all targets observed by Kepler as Threshold-Crossing Events.

Data Validation

Data Validation (DV) reports come from the Kepler pipeline. A multi-page report is produced for each KIC source with one or more TCEs, and a one-page summary is produced for each TCE.

DV reports and summaries are available from the pop-up bubbles in the TCE and KOI tables. You may also select rows in any of the TCE interactive tables and click on the Generate DV PDF option just above the table.

For some pipeline runs (Q1-Q16 and later), the quarter-stitched light curves used by DV are available. A description of these light curves and the files are given on the Kepler Data Validation page. These files are available via the Bulk Download page and can be viewed from the pop-up bubbles in the TCE, KOI and Kepler Stellar interactive tables by clicking on the information icon () next to an object name.

Q1-Q16 Information

NOTE: This paper uses measured statistics on the TCE to filter out likely false positives. For instructions to do the same in the interactive table, see the documentation. Also, see the View Filtered TCEs and View Filtered Long-Period TCEs links in this table to run the ready-made API queries based on the same instructions.
